By 1984, the once humble home improvement retail store expanded to 155 branches. The idea of a
Depot came from them in 1990. It was of course called B & Q Depot. It sort of revolutionized the whole retail
industry worldwide. By 1996, it opened its first wholly owned store internationally and the growth and expansion
became exponential. At present they have 321 stores all over UK and 9 stores scattered strategically in
Ireland.
Today they are considered the largest home improvement retailer in Europe and the third largest
in the whole world with over 30,000 employees. In their annual financial report last January 2010, the company
reported an income of 195 million pounds from total retail sales of 4 billion pounds. The head office, which is
